La position At Roche, we strive to deliver more benefits to our patients as part of our 10-year Pharma vision. An integral part of achieving this vision is to unlock the power of data across Pharma Technical Operations (PT). To do so, we have formed the Digital Data Backbone Chapter , a centralised global engine designed to establish a compliant, trusted, high-quality data foundation. The organisation consists of six specialised departments comprising approximately 100 FTEs: Data Governance, Data Acceleration, Data Solutions, Data Validation, IT/OT & Architecture, and Cybersecurity.

We are looking for a highly organised, analytical, and structured intern to join us for a 12-month journey as a PMO & Technical Coordination/ Operations & Change Enabler Intern . In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Operations for the Digital Data Backbone Chapter. Your focus will be the engine room of our rollout—tracking milestones across global production sites, managing data-driven performance metrics, and orchestrating operational logs to keep our complex network running on time. The Opportunity

  • Orchestrate PMO Timelines: Track global rollout wave timelines, update readiness checklists, and flag schedule risks for prioritised sites across the network.
  • Govern the Risk & Issue Backlogs: Maintain and organise operational issue logs, tracking data quality and data integrity risks from site execution into consolidated global backlogs.
  • Build KPI & Metric Dashboards: Support the collection, tracking, and visualisation of execution and adoption KPIs (e.g., bootcamp metrics, completion lists, and milestone adherence).
  • Structure Framework Artefacts: Help maintain and continuously improve the Chapter Playbook, tracking changes to QMS document structures, data catalogues, and training repositories.
  • Bridge Business and Tech/Data: Collaborate with specialists in Architecture, Cloud Solutions, and Security to help align technical delivery targets with operational business readiness.
  • Enable a Global Network Model: Support the Head of Operations in setting up and facilitating the rhythm of business, alignment sessions, and leadership touchpoints across the 6 core departments.
  • Shape the Communications Strategy: Create, tailor, and distribute communication packages (e.g., info packs, knowledge snippets, and briefing decks) aimed at Site Leadership, local core teams, and technical SMEs.
  • Support Role Transitions: Assist in creating alignment and targeted messaging for legacy roles (such as Data Integrity structures) as they naturally transition and enrich into the new Data Governance framework.
  • Capture Lessons Learned: Collaborate with central and local teams to capture feedback, identify organisational friction points, and refine change management outputs between rollout waves.
  • Foster Data Culture: Support central awareness formats to activate a data citizenship mindset, helping translate complex data frameworks into user-friendly organisational knowledge. Who You Are
  • Academic Background: Enrolled student or recent graduate (within 12 months prior to the start date) in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data/Information Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management / Communications, Business Administration, Information Science, Human Resources, Organisational Behaviour , or a related field.
  • The Structured
  • Organiser: You possess a natural attention to detail, love turning messy or fragmented logs into clean data, and have a strong eye for governance and tracking.
  • Framework Savvy: Fast learner with a strong interest in project management frameworks (Agile/Scrum), Data Governance structures, or quality management systems (QMS).
  • Technical Aptitude (Plus): While not a development role, familiarity with collaborative coordination software (e.g., Smartsheet, Trello, Miro, or SharePoint) or data tracking tools is a major advantage.
  • The People Coordinator: You care deeply about how individuals interact with technology and how large-scale enterprise structures navigate digital shifts.
  • Strategic Communicator: You possess excellent writing and design skills, with the ability to synthesise complex operational strategies into clear, compelling messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Mindset: Proactive, empathetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly international, and multicultural environment.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (written and spoken) is mandatory. A working knowledge of German is a strong asset due to close collaboration with European manufacturing hubs like Penzberg and Mannheim.

  • Please clearly indicate your preferred starting date and duration of the internship on your motivation letter.
  • Applications need to include a CV and a motivation letter both merged in one document.
