Security Engineer III - Java / AWS

Push the limits of what's possible with us as an experienced member of our Security Engineering team. As a Security Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Global Technology team, you serve as a member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading security solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Depending on the team you join, you could be developing security features that protect our customers and clients, strategizing on how to strengthen our threat detection capabilities, creating the next innovation in security controls, or supporting the integration of our private and public cloud security platforms.

Participate in the design and development of scalable and resilient security systems using Java and Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams

• Execute security software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with a focus on quality and performance
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Produce or contribute to architecture and design artifacts for security applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of security applications and systems
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contribute to security engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in coding in Java
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, application resiliency, and security
• Knowledge of security applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Proficiently in coding in Python
• Exposure to cloud technologies
