Requirements
Launched at COP28, the Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC) is an unprecedented global alliance of UN agencies, MDBs, philanthropies, public and private finance initiatives, and capacity-building providers to enhance collaboration and respond to growing requests for sustainable finance capacity-building support from policymakers and financial institutions in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs).
Since its launch, the Coalition has grown to over 130 organizations working on capacity building, who in the aggregate work with over 5,000 public and private financial institutions, 160 financial centres and exchanges and millions of finance professionals in almost every country in the world. The GCBC is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and led by a small team based between London and New York City.
We are looking for a dynamic, expert and experienced Technical Specialist to design and facilitate, in collaboration with the GCBC members, innovative and impactful capacity-building activities and programmes tailored to the needs of financial institutions and finance professionals in EMDEs. The role requires a deep commitment to, and expertise in, climate and sustainable finance, capacity building and training, and multilateral collaboration.
It will require excellent stakeholder relationships and management skills, and a strong track record of capacity building, education and training in climate finance. We'll trust you to:
- Undertake market and institutional needs analyses to identify capacity building gaps and inform programme design.
- Bring together the GCBC members, public and private finance institutions and others to facilitate the co-creation of capacity building initiatives that are responsive to identified market and institutional needs.
- Design and, where appropriate, facilitate, in collaboration with GCBC members, innovative and impactful climate and sustainable finance capacity building, education and training programmes tailored to meet the needs of financial institutions, finance professionals and others including central banks, policymakers and regulators in EMDEs, as well as ensure they have a seamless experience across multiple providers.
- Support the development of best-practice for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Frameworks to assess the effectiveness of capacity building delivery and drive continuous improvement.
- Raise the profile of the GCBC, its members, and high-quality resources and programmes by curating and promoting new and engaging content through digital channels, including the creation of new thought leadership products.
- Promote the GCBC through participation in member events, and other relevant capacity building, education and training fora. Expected
