Role Description: Serve as the senior accountable leader for oversight of Global Control Room activities within BofASE, providing governance, challenge, and regulatory oversight of market abuse controls and information barrier management.
Responsibilities
- Act as the oversight lead for Global Control Room activities within the EU. - Responsible for watch list, restricted list, information barrier, and related market abuse control processes. - Provide effective challenge, governance, and escalation management across key monitoring and surveillance activities. - Develop and deliver management information and key risk indicators for local leadership. - Participate in governance committees, risk forums, and regulatory oversight meetings. - Escalate, track, and oversee remediation of material risks, control issues, and regulatory concerns. - Maintain close partnership with EMEA Global Control Room leadership to ensure consistency with global standards and programs. - Support regulatory examinations, audits, and requests related to market abuse controls. - Promote strong control culture and ongoing enhancement of governance and oversight practices. What we are looking for: - Experience within a Global Control Room, Compliance, Surveillance, or Conduct Risk function. - Experience working in a global financial institution. - Familiarity with cross-border regulatory requirements and governance structures Regulatory & Risk Management - Strong knowledge of market abuse regulations and financial markets. - Understanding of information barriers, watch lists, restricted lists, and insider risk controls. - Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. Oversight & Governance - Ability to provide effective challenge and independent oversight. - Strong control mindset with focus on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. Data & Reporting - Ability to analyse surveillance data and risk indicators. - Experience developing management information and executive reporting. Leadership & Communication - Executive presence and ability to engage senior stakeholders. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to influence across multiple functions, legal entities, and regions. - Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships. Technical & Operational Expertise - Understanding of surveillance and monitoring processes. - Strong problem-solving and investigation skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly regulated environment. Skills that will help: - Global Risk Management experience - Experience leading governance forums and escalation processes.Experience responding to regulatory examinations.
