Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Physical Security Manager — Data Center Security for our ZRH Cluster (Zurich, Switzerland) data centers. This role is the primary physical security contact for assigned sites, reporting directly to the Cluster Security Manager. In this role, you will execute tactical security operations while being exposed to strategic thinking — managing day-to-day security at your sites, resolving straightforward security challenges, and learning to contribute to cluster-level goals.
You will own the security posture of your assigned sites, work on forward-looking tasks, and grow your expertise within one of the world’s largest cloud providers. Own physical security operations for your assigned sites 2.
- Manage straightforward security problems and components of existing security programs 3. Apply established AWS security standards; resolve straightforward security problems in the absence of SOPs with input from senior management 4. Oversee access control systems, CCTV monitoring, guard force operations, and vendor contracts 5. Assess vendor compliance, track service deliverables, and escalate corrective actions when needed; provide guidance to vendors in situations lacking SOPs 6. Report on project status and vendor SLAs 7. May participate in on-call rotations Tactical Contribution, Learning & Projects 1.
- Work on forward-looking tasks; learning to contribute to developing strategic goals for the cluster 2. Adapt operational plans to straightforward, changing security scenarios 3.
- Deliver cluster-level security operations projects 4. Make trade-offs: time vs. resources 5.
- Assist in recruitment and onboarding practices for new team members Process, Compliance & Risk Management 1. Contribute to risk and security management by making straightforward trade-off decisions and providing recommendations 2.
- Create SOPs and contribute to improvements to ensure processes remain relevant and align with team strategy 3. Participate in business continuity/resilience planning 4.
- Support investigative actions in collaboration with HR, Legal, global security team, and law enforcement 5. Conduct inspections, audits, and reviews to ensure compliance with AWS security standards and policies 6. May own post-incident correction of errors, including writing action items and resolving them
