Description de l’offre

Start Date : As soon as possible About Generare At Generare, we’re reopening one of humanity’s most powerful sources of innovation: the natural evolved chemistry of microbes. We’ve built a discovery engine that blends synthetic biology, computational biology, and automation to explore the vast 97% of microbial natural products that remain undiscovered, and to turn that hidden diversity into a rapidly growing library of truly novel bioactive molecules.

The platform is already running at industrial scale, revealing new scaffolds and modes of action faster than any other approach, and unlocking fresh routes to tackle antimicrobial resistance, cancer, parasitic diseases, and major agricultural needs. Generare was created in 2023 from the landmark work of Dr. Vincent Libis and is scaling fast. We’re 20 brilliant people in the heart of Paris today, growing rapidly next year, and building the team that will bring nature’s molecular library to the next wave of medicines and sustainable crop protection.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our production team and play a key role in executing daily workflows that take us from soil-derived microbial samples to the extraction of valuable therapeutic compounds . You will work on a variety of technical steps central to Generare’s discovery engine, including microbial isolation, DNA extraction and sequencing, strain transformation, fermentation, and compound extraction. You will collaborate closely with other lab team members to ensure experimental quality, equipment readiness, and accurate documentation of procedures.

This position is ideal for a hands-on, experienced technician eager to contribute to a growing deeptech environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sample processing & microbial workflows Perform microbial isolation, DNA extraction, PCR, strain transformation, and sequencing (Nanopore). - Molecular biology & fermentation

  • Support the construction of cloning libraries, transformation of host strains, and culture in fermentation conditions.
  • Compound extraction Carry out organic extractions of microbial cultures to isolate bioactive small molecules.
  • Lab coordination & maintenance
  • Prepare reagents, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure readiness of material for daily workflows.
  • Documentation & traceability Record protocols and experimental results in lab software with a high degree of rigor.
  • Team collaboration
  • Work closely with the Production team to plan and execute workflows efficiently and support collective goals. Profile
  • Education : BTS, DUT or Licence in microbiology, biotechnology, or molecular biology.
  • Experience : 3–5 years of laboratory experience, ideally in a biotech or microbiology-focused environment. Hard skills
  • Good command of molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, transformation, DNA prep).
  • Familiarity with microbial culture and basic fermentation techniques.
  • Experience with sequencing and organic extraction is a strong plus. Soft skills
  • Organization : Excellent record-keeping, attention to detail, and lab hygiene standards.
  • Team spirit : Ability to work collaboratively, communicate clearly, and take ownership of shared lab responsibilities. Languages Proficient in French, comfortable reading and writing in English.
