Description de l’offre

🏠 What We Do The shift to electric mobility is happening. Electra is accelerating it. Transportation is one of Europe's biggest sources of carbon emissions. Since 2021, Electra exists to make charging so simple that electric vehicles become the obvious choice for everyone. In 5 years, we've built a team of 300+ talents from 21 nationalities in 10 countries. We've grown into one of Europe's leading fast-charging operators by deploying fast, reliable infrastructure and user experiences across our own network, and we're now expanding to thousands more charging points in Europe with our own eMSP.

Backed by over €1 billion in funding, we're looking for bold, passionate, collaborative talents to drive Europe's energy transition. If that sounds exciting, we'd love to hear from you! 💼 Your Mission Join Electra's Roaming squad in Paris as a Senior Software Engineer Backend. The squad owns everything that lets a driver charge beyond our own network and get billed correctly: OCPI/OICP roaming with dozens of partner operators, our Go-based eMSP service, payments, invoicing and dynamic pricing at European scale.

Your mission: build and operate the backend systems that make Electra's roaming reliable, interoperable and ready to scale to thousands more charging points across Europe. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Your Responsibilities

  • Build and operate the Roaming backend Design, ship and maintain the backend services and APIs behind roaming and our eMSP: OCPI 2.2.1 and OICP integrations, real-time synchronisation of partner networks (locations, tariffs, sessions, CDRs) and the flows that turn a charging session into a correct invoice. Work hands-on across our stack: Go for performance-critical services, Ruby on Rails for business logic, PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB, NATS and Redis for messaging and caching, all deployed on AWS with Datadog observability.
  • Own complex problems end to end Take interoperability, data-consistency and reliability challenges from discovery through rollout: partners with variable uptime, non-compliant protocol implementations, high-volume real-time updates, and follow through after release with Ops, Finance and partner teams. Make pragmatic technical trade-offs, strengthen observability and incident prevention, and keep the roaming platform available and accurate as volumes grow.
  • Raise the engineering bar of the squad Simplify architectures, improve performance and reliability, and mentor peers while staying a hands-on individual contributor. Use modern engineering practices and AI-assisted tooling responsibly to accelerate delivery while protecting quality, maintainability and technical judgment. 😎

Your Profile

  • You have 5+ years of experience as a backend software engineer, with a strong track record of designing, shipping and operating production-grade distributed systems.
  • You bring strong technical judgment, ownership and attention to reliability, data consistency, edge cases and operational workflows.
  • You are comfortable integrating with third-party systems and APIs, and you know how to keep internal data coherent when external partners are slow, unreliable or non-compliant.
  • You are a fast learner, comfortable entering a complex domain (EV roaming, payments, invoicing) and collaborating closely with product, operations, finance and external partners.
  • Experience with Go, Ruby on Rails, AWS, event-driven architectures, OCPI/OICP or invoicing systems is a plus, not a hard requirement.
  • You are fluent in both English and French.
