Business Analyst, Energy Data Management, Gas & Power Trading IT

TotalEnergies installed its European trading hub across in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities: TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP). TotalEnergies Gas & Power Trading operates in a fast‑growing, international energy trading environment, with increasing data volumes, geographical coverage, and automation needs.

The Energy Data Management function plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and quality of market and operational data required to support trading, risk management, and regulatory processes.

As part of this role, you will work at the intersection of business and technology, helping translate business needs into effective solutions across the Energy Data Management (EDM) landscape. Your key activities will include: Business Analysis & Solutions delivery

• Act as an interface to the business and ensure an understanding of the business objectives and priorities, and be proactive in proposing value-adding solutions to the business
• Work with the business to define business/functional requirements, and ensure business validation of such requirements and consistency with the systems landscape and strategy of Trading IT
• Work with the technical team, including developers and vendor teams, on solutions design and delivery
• Prepare and execute test plans and validate delivered solutions with business, ensuring compliance with business specifications and IT control framework
• Contribute to system configuration for business readiness Service Delivery & Support
• Liaise with the business on all aspects of service delivery and promote IT solutions delivered
• Manage a backlog of change requirements and assist in their delivery

You are a Master Degree holder (in IT, Finance or equivalent).

• You have 2-3 years of experience in a utility or commodity trading environment, with knowledge of energy market processes and associated operational and market data flows
• You have a strong interest in IT and technology; experience with Energy Data Management solutions is an asset.
• You are familiar with APIs, cloud platforms, GitHub, and scripting concepts, enabling you to interact effectively with technical teams.
• You are comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance your daily productivity and delivery.
• You have experience with DevOps and Agile delivery methodologies, as well as requirements engineering.
• You are able to manage multiple activities simultaneously and have strong communication and organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• You are educated to degree level in an IT, technology, or engineering discipline.
• You are fluent in English; competency in French is advantageous.
